The US is experiencing a widespread worker shortage. According to the Dept. of Labor at the beginning of this year the US economy had 7.6 million unfilled jobs.
Businesses are struggling to fill skilled labor jobs that do not require a college degree. But the real problem is that there are not enough technical two year community colleges to fill this gap!
There is a serious problem facing American industry in the near future. Simply because more and more Americans are going to college and taking professional jobs, while working-class baby boomers are retiring en masses. Automation and the other solutions will not answer this dilemma.
One solution is to implement more Apprenticeship Programs and pay more attention to 2 year junior technical colleges to start filling this gap.
